The Joy of Training..

My first week back to training has been a great one. I managed 3 swims, 3bikes, 4 runs and it is only Saturday. I did a list of things that I know I am training for Ironman when, and I am not there yet but there are some signs that I know I have gotten back to it. So here it is...I know I am training when....

1. You use spell check more than usual
2. You look forward to distance Monday
3. You wake up at 2:30am and could eat an entire pizza
4. You have not had a pedi in a month or more
5. You are back to wearing compression socks to bed
6. Your idea of fun is a 10k time trial
7. The dishwasher is full of water bottles and the dirty dishes are on the counter
8. There are multiple loads of spandex/Lycra wash to be done
9. Most of the shoes laying around belong to you
10. You are asleep before the kids!!

Last night I was exhausted. I fell right to sleep and was in full dream mode when the phone rings. I am sorry but any time the phone rings after 8pm I do not answer. Well this was 1:30am, and my HR was as high as it was during the 10k time trial. So much for a good nights sleep. I tried to breath deep and relax and drift back to sleep. Wrong, by 2:30 I was famished. I was thinking of all the things I could eat. By this time it was 4:50 and I was debating just getting up and calling the person back. But I must have dosed off, because at 7:30 my dogs nose was in my face! Today is basketball for Reiley and Madie has a swim meet on Sunday. I am already looking forward to next weeks training. We are supposed to have some nice weather, it is good to be outside!! Cheers!
